With effect from 22 July 2010, customers may submit Tier 4 visa applications for the following courses only: foundation degrees and Scottish HNDs, degree and postgraduate courses. Child Students may also submit visa applications. The suspension on other courses remains in place until 12 August.
The submission of Tier 4 applications at the visa application centre in Kathmandu is by appointment only. Please do not request an appointment if you do not hold a valid Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to study a foundation degree, Scottish HND, degree or postgraduate course, or you are a Child Student.
How to make an appointment
Please email only if your course is one of those listed above, it begins on or before 30 September 2010 and you hold a valid CAS. Appointments will be provided soon for later course start dates.
Please include the following information in your request for an appointment:
CAS reference number
Course title
Course start date
Name of the education provider
VFS will schedule an appointment once it receives the request. It responds to emails received between 08:00 and 17:00 only. Please print out the email confirming the details of your appointment and bring this with you to the visa application centre. You should reach the visa application centre 5 minutes before your appointment time.
In order to show that the application qualifies at the levels outlined above, it is suggested that customers bring to the appointment a letter, email or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) statement from the sponsor that provides information about the course and includes: the CAS reference number, course title, course start date and name of the education provider.
The appointment must be made in the name of the applicant who will attend the visa application centre to submit the application. It is not possible for appointment details to be changed once made or for another person to attend the visa application centre.
You must make one request for an appointment only (multiple requests are likely to result in you not receiving an appointment).
VFS will aim to send you a response to your request as soon as possible. However, please note you may not receive an immediate response if there is a high volume of requests. You will be allocated the first available appointment.
It is important that the student visa application form is completed fully and all documents are assembled before the applicant attends the visa application centre by appointment. Applicants will be permitted to enter the visa application centre only if they possess the completed visa application form, passport, the visa fee and other supporting documents.
Please note:
It is regretted that applicants with an appointment will not be permitted to enter the visa application centre if:
the visa application form has not been completed fully
there is any difference between the information provided by the applicant at the time of making an appointment and the time of attending the visa application centre.
It is not possible to obtain an appointment by visiting or telephoning the visa application centres.
